The Neoclassic Attic Krater Urn is a neoclassic (probably 18th cent.) version of a traditional classic Attic Krater (urn) from the classical Greek period. Attica is the province that contains Athens and hence this is an urn from the Athenian area. The urn feathers all the appointments that make up an Attic Krater including two scroll handles on either side of the mouth that extend down to the body, but, this has a neoclassic motif added. The foot (pedestal) includes the traditional fillet, but, in this is quite ornate with leaves and egg and dart designs around. Also it features a crosshatch design around the shoulder and a grapevine scroll around the body. Extremely attractive, this urn is a bit over two feet high and is perfect for a mantle, side table or outdoors in a garden or patio setting. This distinctive urn is meticulously hand cast and hand finished in our USA foundry in extremely durable fiberstone. Fiberstone is a mixture of sand and stones cast into the surface to give the appearance of aged stone. Reinforced with a fiberglass backing, it remains lighter and less fragile than concrete. Guaranteed outdoor durability. Shown in Antique Stone finish, but, is available in all the colors shown in the chart below. Make your choice by selecting your finish in the finish/colors options list by the "Add to Cart" button. Finishes are hand applied and may vary, making each piece unique. 15" W x 11" D x 26" H | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
