This distinctive sculpture is meticulously hand cast and hand finished in our USA foundry in extremely durable fiberstone. Fiberstone is a mixture of sand and stones cast into the surface to give the appearance of aged stone. Reinforced with a fiberglass backing, it remains lighter and less fragile than concrete. Guaranteed outdoor durability. Shown in White Moss and Antique Stone finishes, but, is available in all the colors shown in the chart below. Our Pilgrims' Angel is an exquisite sculpture. The clamshell is identified with pilgrims and pilgrimage. This is perhaps an association with Santiago Di Compostella in Northern Spain and the seafood that pilgrims ate when they arrived there at the shrine of the apostle James, taking home with them the clamshells as souvenirs. The clamshell is, for example, included in the crest of the il Venerabile Collegio Inglese college in Rome, the college having developed from its beginnings as a hostel for Anglo Saxon pilgrims. You can display it on a veranda wall, outdoor patio side table, or even in a cozy garden nook surrounded by the bounty of nature as a pilgrim's inspiration .
