About Teak
Teak has long been used for outdoor construction and is a naturally hard wood that holds up over time, making it perfect for outdoor furniture.
When exposed to outdoor weather and the sun over time, teak will acquire a silver/grey patina. This is a purely cosmetic change that does not affect the integrity of the furniture. How quickly the aging process occurs depends on the weather conditions the table is exposed to. Our factories follow strict protocols and controls to ensure consistency and longevity, such as adhering to curing times and having on-site finish technicians

The table is coated with a Washed Brown finish applied on top of the teak, as opposed to a teak oil or stain that is absorbed by the wood. The finish mimics how the teak will age from the start and mirrors the aging process with wire brushing and grey undertones, ensuring that the long-term weathering affect is similar to the original look. The finish will wear through over time and reveal the underlying natural teak. The first signs of silvering will be apparent within 1Ð3 months. Full silvering is dependent upon the elements and exposure.
In addition to finish wear and silvering, there are additional signs of aging such as joint expansion/contraction, peeling/bubbling and hairline cracks. These are all common results of natural aging and moisture changes. These are not product defects, but attributes that will bring out the natural beauty and character of this timeless table.
Care Recommendations
¥ Address spills immediately by wiping with a soft, dry cloth.
¥ Clean as needed with warm, soapy water, then dry with a soft, clean cloth.
¥ Avoid the use of harsh cleaners and abrasives.
¥ Do not let water stand on the surface of the piece.
¥ Once your furniture is clean and fully dry, protect with a well-ventilated cover during inclement weather and when not in use.
¥ As the finish wears and is exposed to the elements, peeling or bubbling may occur. Gently clean with a soft, natural bristle brush in the direction of the grain to remove the finish that has started to peel away. This process will expose the raw wood, allowing it to begin to silver and blend back in with the finish in 1Ð3 months.
¥ When your furniture piece has fully weathered, no additional care is required. Consult a furniture technician if reviving natural color is desired.
