Siracusa Jar

The Siracusa Jars are classic olive urns that are just simply stunning. Not only do they have a classic shape they possess amazingly beautiful multi layered patinas with a strong Mediterranean vibe. Inspired by classic world shapes that have been staples in Italian gardens for centuries, the Siracusa Jars have a subtle ribbing around the body and a bull nose rim at the top. The Siracusa Jars are beautifully textured terracotta and come in three incredible glazes: Vicolo Muro, with a beige or tan base with a dirty brown accents, the Vicolo Mattone, with and orange base and brownish hue accents and the Vicolo Noir with a aged black base with white accents. All three glazes give the Catania an ancient feel and they look that they have been tucked away in the landscape for eons. These are antique garden vessels with a drain hole. Whether these urns are planted, we recommend going tall with reeds, grasses or ferns) or not, they will be a vintage-inspired decorative piece of value. These urns are perfect for poolside, verandas, patio corners and practically any indoor/outdoor garden setting. In groupings of two or three these urns make a special statement. Use several to line a walkway or large foyer or display.

Meticulously hand made and hand finished in high fired terra cotta. The glazes on our containers consist of natural, not chemical, components and therefore the final color of the product will vary. This process creates the unique beauty of each piece.

Note: While the high firing temperature and quality of our glazed and terra cotta containers results in a durable and frost-resistant product, we still recommend that they be stored in a frost-free covered area in winter. If left outside, water may accumulate in the container and freeze, causing the planter to crack and break. Planters that must be left outside should be covered to prevent water, snow and ice from accumulating inside the planter.
